Second Tour to The West Side Of Batavia

19 July 2023

The second route this time i went to the West Side of Batavia a.k.a Kota Tua.
Selama saya tinggal di Jakarta, i found out that the other part of Kota Tua also has history.
During our time in Jakarta, we only knew about the old Dutch buildings. But we never know if these buildings have different histories.

Before the tour began, a man came riding a motorcycle and carrying several plastic bags. Suddenly, the man clapped his hands while throwing food in a black plastic bag. It was a sign that he was calling a flock of pigeons. We who took the tour were confused, and unexpectedly, the pigeons were not far from the man standing. Many birds came to the place where the food was thrown just now.
What a beautiful sight! Almost all of us took photos and videos of the moment

After capturing the moment, the tour began. Before we walked, we were told the history of the West Side of Batavia.
Starting from the buildings next to the Chartered Bank of India, Australia, and China to Toko Merah. There are no photos because yesterday there were many electric cables blocking the view of the building so sorry i decided to take only part of the building

Actually, there are still many photos that i did not take, because they were blocked by power lines.
Next tour i will take more photos
